Musings et cetera

God is great indeed and mighty is He.  Blessed be the Name of the Lord forever.  He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  We are the ones who change.  He is constant.  He is faithful.

Brother Ody Romance — at Angels' Hills Tagaytay

We started the month with a Community Servants' Gathering/Retreat/Recollection at Angels Hills' Tagaytay.  Brother Ody Romance was, for lack of a better term at the moment, our Retreat Master.

It was a back to basics kind of thing.  Sometimes even if we have learned these things in the past, we either tend to forget them or they are buried in the deep recesses of our souls.

“Late have I loved thee, O beauty ever ancient, ever new.”-Saint Augustine, Confessions(Kay Tagal Bago Kita Minahal, Gandang Sinauna at Sariwa)
If there is a person we could emulate for her patience, it's Saint Monica.  Her son was a playboy and has done everything a mother doesn't wish her beloved son would do.  He even sired a child named Adeodatus.

Still, Saint Monica prayed for him for seventeen long years.  When her prayers were answered not only did her son, Augustine, become the Bishop of Hippo and a Doctor of the Church, he became a canonized Saint.  Imagine that!

We should not give up on people.  We should never ever say that a person would never change because the power of our words could make it true.  What we should do is not to give up on hope and trust in the Lord that that person could change...would change.

Shema Yisrael (or Sh'ma Yisrael; Hebrew: שְׁמַ×¢ יִשְׂ×Øָאֵל‬; "Hear, [O] Israel") are the first two words of a section of the Torah, and is the title (better known as The Shema) of a prayer that serves as a centerpiece of the morning and evening Jewish prayer services.

Tito Windy Solis, among other people, said to me that people make decisions to be happy or the opposite.  That joy is within, whether we are sad or not.  Some people just want to be in a relationship for the sake of having one.

That's true.

We can be happy...joyful in spite and despite of the many trials we are experiencing, and whatever state of life we are.

God is all we need.  He is our Shepherd, we shall not want.

Through God's grace, I also pray this prayer.  May God bless the person who composed that prayer more and more, up to the tenth of his kin, ascending, descending and laterally.  In Jesus' Name I pray.  Amen!

This is so true.  Well, not all the time, but more often than not it truly is.  People come to us sometimes just to vent out, but we try to give them philosophical things that are so highfalutin to fathom.
We say we trust in Him, but WE worry about the most minute detail.  Let's all let go and let God!

When God brings people in our lives we must believe in our hearts that He knows best.  When we have preconceptions and misconceptions due to hearsay, we must dig deeper in our hearts.

Even mighty people of God get tired, drained, insecure, et cetera.  I know we should never ever blame our humanity, but that's how it is, they are human too.  Like us, they falter, but also like us, they must also be given a chance to rise up again.

On the other hand, if God removes people in your lives, don't come running after them.  In these cases, we must also believe that God knows best.

Note to self:  It always takes two to tango.  If you are innocent, just keep quiet.  I know it's easier said than done.  Also, if the person did nothing wrong to you, do not fan the flame of negativity.  You keep saying that you did not and would not ignite anything, but when you agree with people about something negative, then you are also at fault, so please just shut up and listen.  Don't add insult to injury.  Don't blame the messenger. Don't even blame the subject.  Pray, pray, pray!
